The Flute and Piccolo Studio consists of committed students of all ages that wish to
advance their musical skills. Beginning and intermediate lessons focus flute fundamentals such as tone production, posture,
rhythm, technique, articulation, and stage presence. Advanced lessons will work toward mastery of musicality, vibrato, interpretation
and advanced skills. Both music theory and history are included in lesson curriculum. Lessons are student focused, flexible,
and supportive. Curriculum works to instill a love of music while introducing students to standard method work, skill development,
etudes and solo repertoire. Students are encouraged to participate in recitals, festivals, competitions, and master
classes that are offered throughout the year. Studio members excel in competitions and auditions, be it in honor
groups, youth orchestras, or band auditions. Students have gone on to pursue music in college with scholarships.
